All children between nine months and five years with viral acute watery diarrhea who present within 48 hours of onset of illness, who are willing to get admitted for three days or prepared to come for review daily for three days.
1. Malnourished children (Weight for height < â?? 2 Z score as per WHO charts)
2. Children with dehydration
3. Children who cannot be fed orally due to persistent vomiting/ unconsciousness / seizures / septic shock
4. Children who refuse to eat green banana
5. Children who received antibiotic / anti-motility agent prior to hospitalization
6. Children who do not stay for > 72 hours or children who do not come for follow-up daily for three days.
7. Children whose parents do not give written consent
