Inclusion Criteria

1.Patients with ASA physical status grade 1 and2 undergoing tracheal intubation for elective surgery under general anaesthesia.

Exclusion Criteria

1.Patients with anticipated difficult airway :

Modified Mallampati class III and IV ,

thyromental distance < 6cm ,

interincisor distance < 3.5 cm,

inability to bring lower incisors in front of upper incisors ,

buck teeth and poor dentition with high risk of damage,

oropharyngeal pathology or facial abnormality,

restriction of neck movements and cervical spine pathology,

BMI >35kg /metre2

2. Haemodynamic or pulmonary compromise

3. High risk of pulmonary aspiration

4. Pregnancy

5. Cardiac disease and hypertension

Intubation Difficulty Scale Score (IDS) which is a seven point scoring system as described by Adnet comprising of: <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>Number of attempts of tracheal tube passes <br/ ><br>Number of operators <br/ ><br>Number of alternative techniques (bougie, change of blade size) <br/ ><br>Glottic exposure (Cormack and Lehane grade minus 1) <br/ ><br>Lifting force required during laryngoscopy <br/ ><br>Necessity for Laryngeal pressure <br/ ><br>Vocal cord mobility <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>Timepoint: At the time of intubation <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>
