Forty-six (14.6%) patients reported that they had severe postoperative pain on POD 0. Patients underwent pancreatic surgery, minimal invasive surgery and experienced severe pain at anytime in the post-anesthetic care unit were potential factors for having severe pain demonstrated in our study.

All patients with ASA 1-3 who underwent elective hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery during the IRB approval period
Exclusion Criteria
unresectable locally advanced disease
postoperative ventilatory support needed
