A clinical trial to compare whether children after undergoing surgery in hard palate, (roof of mouth) eat sooner with reducing the sensation by blocking the nerve or with injecting local anaesthetic drug directly into the palate.

Inclusion Criteria
All children upto 12 years of age, of both sexes, with ASA class I and II scheduled for surgical repair of cleft palate under general anaesthesia
Exclusion Criteria
1) Patients with history of developmental delay or mental retardation
2) Patients with hypersensitivity to local anaesthetics
3) Patients with bleeding diathesis
4) Patients with skin lesions or wounds at puncture site of block
5) Patients with congenital facial anomalies (which includes syndromic patients with features like micrognathia and retrognathia)
