Inclusion Criteria
Children (5-15) years undergoing IV Cannulation.
Both male and female children.
Parents who are giving consent for their children to participate in the study.
Children who are present during data collection.
Parents of children who are able to read and write Kannada, English.
Exclusion Criteria
Children who are allergic to lignocaine 2% gel.
Children who are undergoing emergency IV Cannulation.
Children who are mentally retarded.

Name Time Method Demographic variables Such As Age, Gender, Child body built ( according to BMI) Indication for cannulation, Site of cannulation, Previous exposure to IV cannulation. Pain was Assessed by The Wong-Bakers FACES pain rating scale consists of 0 to 10 rating. The scale scoring procedure is as follows. <br/ ><br>0 score: no hurt, <br/ ><br> 2 score: hurt little bit, <br/ ><br> 4 score: hurt little more, <br/ ><br> 6 score: hurts even more, <br/ ><br>8 score: hurts whole lot, <br/ ><br>10 scores: hurts worst.Timepoint: three time points: time 1, Assessment of pain level at the time <br/ ><br>of IV cannulation with Wong-bakers <br/ ><br>faces pain rating scale; time 2, Assessment of pain after 5 minutes <br/ ><br>of IV cannulation; time 3, Assessment of pain after 30 minutes <br/ ><br>of IV cannulation
