The study centers will be selected according to predefined criteria (urban/rural settlement structure, university affiliation of the institution, deprivation index of the region, regional population share aged >65 years). Additional centers will be recruited during the course of the study.
The observed group consists of adult patients who will receive specialized palliative care in one of the following settings: palliative care unit, palliative care advisory team, specialized home palliative care. Consecutively, all patients treated in participating study centers during the period of data collection will be included.
There will be no exclusion criteria, as all patients who are cared for in participating centers during the survey period are included.
