1. Patients who are willing to participate and sign the informed consent for this clinical trial.
2.Patients in the age group of 20 to 60 years.
3.Patients will be divided as:
a)Group I-30 periodontally healthy patients,(PI and GI score between 0â??1.) and with no history/habit of smoking.
b)Group II-30 periodontally healthy patients,(PI and GI score between 0â??1.) and with history/habit of smoking.
c)Group III-30 patients with stage III or stage IV periodontitis, (affecting more than 30% of the teeth, with CAL >=5 mm, and PPD >=6mm) and with no history/habit of smoking.
d)Group IV-30 patients with stage III or stage IV periodontitis ,(affecting more than 30% of the teeth, with CAL >=5 mm, and PPD >=6mm) and with history/habit of smoking.
1.Systemic conditions associated with periodontal diseases.
2. History of periodontal treatment within the past 6 months.
3. Self-reported psychiatric disorder or psychotic medications.
4. Pregnancy or a history of taking medications known to increase the risk of gingival hyperplasia.
