Inclusion Criteria
All consecutive ischemic stroke patients within 7 days from symptom onset who admitted via emergency room of 9 participating centers nationwide from 2011/01 to 2011/03, were identified based on a prospective stroke registry. Two controls matched for age and sex were selected for each case from the fourth Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey conducted in 2007 and 2008.
Exclusion Criteria
TIA patients were excluded in case group.
