•1.Children aged 10 to 16 years presenting with lakshanas of pandu, and positive results for investigatory parameters of pandu roga (iron deficiency anemia) whose parents willing to give consent to participate them in the study
•2.Children with Hb% between 8-11 gm %
•3.Microcytic hypochromic anemia
•4.Serum ferritin level < 20 ng/l
•5.After obtaining written informed consent from parents, children of both gender with hemoglobin level below normal range and PBS showing microcytosis and hypochromia will be included.

•1.Those with Hb% below 8 gm%
•2.Those suffering from leukaemia, bleeding disorders, tuberculosis, renal and other nutritional deficiencies etc will be excluded
•3.Any other type of anemia except IDA
•4.IDA with any associated severe complication
