Presence of a sleep apnea defined by the criteria of the American Association of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and the Deutschen Gesellschaft für
Schlafmedizin (DGSM)
- Decision for a therapy by the means of an CPAP or APAP
- Sufficient knowledge of German to answer all questionnaires without any comprehension Problem or the need of help
- Age of majority and capacity to consent
- Disagreement with the study or therapy
- CPAP/APAP usage of less then 300 hours in the first three month (noncompliance)
- Circumstances or recents diagnoses that stand not in connection with sleep apnea and have a strong impact on the live quality e.g. Diagnosis of a cancer or psychiatric disease

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Aim of the study is, to compare our data in respect of the internal consistency, reliability, validity, responsiveness and sensitivity to those data of other studies which previously successfully translated and validated the SAQLI in an other language and of the original approval study of the SAQLI. If this comparison shows sufficient comparability, our aim of validating the SAQLI for the German speaking population would be reached.
