1. Mandibular molars with an endodontic pulpal diagnosis of symptomatic irreversible pulpitis.
2. Patients who had not taken any analgesics the day before and the day of the root canal procedure.
1. Patients who refuse to give informed consent.
2. Teeth other than mandibular molars (incisors, canines, premolars).
3. Teeth with any resorptions, anatomy anomalies or perforations.
4. Patients taking medication for any systemic conditions other than DM.
5. Allergic to local anesthetics or any other drugs.
6. Conditions that influence the pain scores, and with presence of periapical radiolucency, swelling, and sinus tract.
7. Teeth with vertical fractures and periodontally compromised teeth.
8. Non-restorable teeth.
