(1) six months or more since stroke onset, (2) ability to walk independently over-ground for at least 10 m with or without assistive devices, (3) absence of any cognitive impairment (greater than 24 on the Mini Mental State Examination) (Folstein MF, Folstein SE, and McHugh 1975), (4) ability to understand verbal instructions for the testing and training procedures, (5) no cerebellar and vestibular lesion, and (6) no orthopedic conditions causing any kind of gait dysfunction.
(1) serious heart or other medical conditions that cause difficulty for daily training, (2) 2 or more attacks of stroke.
