Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •1\.Age \> 18 y
  • •2\.Acute myocardial infarction (STEMI) with ST segment elevation in at least two contiguous leads and thoracic pain lasting over 20 minutes and less than 6 hours
  • •3\.Informed Consent
  • •Are the trial subjects under 18? no
  • •Number of subjects for this age range:
  • •F.1\.2 Adults (18\-64 years) yes
  • •F.1\.2\.1 Number of subjects for this age range
  • •F.1\.3 Elderly (\>\=65 years) yes
  • •F.1\.3\.1 Number of subjects for this age range

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\.Acute myocardial infarction without ST elevation (NSTEMI)
  • •2\.Complete left bundle branch block
  • •3\.Previous STEMI in the same territory
  • •4\.Contraindications to anti\-platelet therapy or IIb/IIIa inhibitors
  • •5\.Hypertension (\> 180/100 mmHg)
  • •6\.Pregnancy or fertile age
