Inclusion Criteria

Healthy volunteers
- minimum age of 50 years (which is the minimum age in the Lifelines/ImaLife
population);
- willingness to cooperate and sign written informed consent;
- no prior history of neurologic or significant psychiatric illness.

Patients:
- minimum age of 50 years
- diagnosis of MCI or A.D.
- People with AD diagnosis: MMSE score between 18 - 26
- willingness to cooperate and sign written informed consent;
- no prior history of significant psychiatric illness or cardiovascular
disease

Exclusion Criteria

- a diagnosis of vascular disorder;
- (other) neurological conditions;
- contra-indications for MRI scanning (e.g., metal implants, claustrophobia,
cardiac pacemaker, brain surgery);
- absence of signed informed consent form;
- the refusal to be informed about an unforeseen clinical finding.
