Clinical assessment case record forms, maintained in the Department of Palliative Medicine of assessment of advanced cancer patients over 18 years and above, with documentation of psychological evaluation of patients in the initial consultation (face to face interview) and/or subsequent 2 follow up assessments (face to face or telephonic consultation).
Clinical assessment case record forms of patients will be excluded will be excluded if
1.Patients were not evaluated for psychological assessment â?? as per the records in their case notes
2.Patients had very poor functional/performance status and hence, unable to undergo detailed psychological assessment - as per the records in their case notes (recorded performance status)
3.Patients were in severe pain and/or with severe physical symptom/s and/or severe cognitive impairment, and hence, unable to undergo detailed psychological evaluation - as per the records in their case notes (recorded symptom assessment)
4.Patients were unable or reluctant to verbally communicate with palliative care staff during their initial assessment or follow up consultations - as per the records in their case notes
5.Caregivers were reluctant for patients to communicate with palliative care staff during their initial assessment and follow up consultations - as per the records in their case notes
