Inclusion Criteria

Volunteers who survived Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) and Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA), hospitalized for treatment of these conditions. Aged = 20 years. Of both sexes. Obese (coexistence of overweight and body fat in obese adults and elderly – Body Mass Index BMI= 25 kg/m2 and > 27 kg/m2, for adults and the elderly, respectively, i.e., overweight BMI for both age groups and, necessarily, increased waist circumference (WC) = 80 cm increased for women and = 90 cm for men) and/or excess body fat according to Triceps Skinfold (PCT) - TSF > 95th percentile for sex and age OR % adequacy > 120% when the PCT obtained / PCT percentile 50 x 100 > 120%, increased WC and PCT constitute obesity/excess adipose tissue, in individuals with overweight/overweight BMI). Clinically stable. With conditions for telephone contact and/or other form of remote contact after hospital discharge

Exclusion Criteria

Individuals hospitalized for treatment of Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) and Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA). With – Body Mass Index BMI < 25 kg/m2 (adults) and <= 27 kg/m2 (elderly). Clinically unstable. With special needs (assisted feeding, such as enteral feeding). No conditions for telephone contact and/or other form of remote contact after hospital discharge. Pregnant or lactating women
