Inclusion Criteria

Inclusion criteria were complete deep finger flexor (FDP) rupture with or without zone I or II shallow finger flexor (FDS) rupture, and those who started joint range of motion training of the operated finger within 1 week postoperatively.

Exclusion Criteria

Exclusion criteria were patients who had received a tendon graft or tendon transplant, had extensor tendon injuries, fractures, or joint injuries, required skin reconstruction, required outpatient visits to other hospitals, or were unable to make outpatient visits at least 3 times per week for 8 weeks postoperatively.

Primary Outcome Measures

Strickland assessment at the completion end of hand therapy, %TAF, sum of IP joint extension limitation angles, PIP and DIP joint active flexion and extension angles, number of postoperative days, and joint range of motion measured using a goniometer.
