The child
- uses German as a first language or, in case of a non-German native language, has regular contact with the German language for several hours (e.g., daycare center) for at least 10 months
- IQ =85 in a developmental diagnostic (limit cases: =77, provided that a repeated examination after 6 months at the earliest shows improvement)
- peripheral normal hearing bilateral
- moderate to severe (specific) developmental language disorder
- motor, cognitive, anatomical, or sensory disorders that may be associated with language deficits
- speech fluency disorder
- profound developmental disorder (e.g. autism or mental disorder)
- language therapy during the last 3 months
- childhood apraxia of speech (CAS)
