简要总结

Background: Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) is a common surgical procedure used to treat coronary artery disease. Although life-saving, postoperative recovery is often complicated by musculoskeletal pain, particularly upper back pain, which can impede physical rehabilitation and reduce quality of life in older adults. With growing demand for accessible and cost-effective rehabilitation, tele-rehabilitation and manual therapy techniques such as Myofascial Trigger Point Release (MTR) have shown potential in post-CABG care.

Aim:

To study the effectiveness of myofascial trigger release and exercise based tele rehabilitation in older adult discharged CABG patients.

Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of Myofascial Trigger Point Release and  exercise-based tele-rehabilitation in reducing upper back pain among older adults  discharged CABG patients

Methods: A total of 50 post-CABG patients aged 50 to 59 and above were purposively assigned into two groups (n = 25 each). The intervention group A  received MTR along with Strengthening exercises, while the group B received Exercise based telerehabilitation along with strengthening exercises. Pain intensity and range of motion  was assessed pre- and post-intervention using a validated pain scale and goniometry .Data were analyzed using an independent t-test.

Conclusion: On comparing the results of independent t test and dependent t test, both the groups showed significant improvement but group A showed significantly more improvement than group B. hence we reject null hypothesis and accept the alternate hypothesis. Thus, we conclude that myofascial trigger release is more effective in reducing the upper back pain.
