Comparative clinical and radiographic evaluation of efficacy of demineralized bone matrix versus demineralized freeze dried bone allograft in treatment of apical location of the base of the pocket relative to the bone crest: a randomized controlled clinical trial
- Conditions
- Chronic periodontitis,
- Registration Number
- CTRI/2023/07/055895
- Lead Sponsor
- Dr Rishabh Trivedi
- Brief Summary
The study will be done to evaluate clinical & radiographic efficacy of Demineralized Bone Matrix in comparison of that of Demineralized Freeze Dried Bone Allograft in treatment of infrabony defects. It will be a randomized controlled clinical trial. Total treatment sites will be 30 with chronic periodontitis. After 3-4 weeks of scaling, patients will be called for surgical procedure. After incision, reflection and degranulation; the infrabony defects will be filled with either Demineralized Bone Matrix or Demineralized Freeze Dried Bone Allograft according to the inclusion groups. The flaps will be sutured with 4 0 silk sutures. Plaque index, gingival index, pocket probing depth and clinical attachment level will be recorded preoperatively and postoperatively. Radiographs will be taken preoperatively and postoperatively.
