The selection criteria for participants were as follows:
1) Individuals who experienced their last menstruation over one year ago
2) Individuals who fulfill at least one of the NCEP-ATP III diagnostic criteria for metabolic syndrome, which are abdominal circumference = 80cm, fasting blood glucose=100mg/dl, blood pressure =130/85mmHg, triglyceride=150mg/dl, or HDL-C=50mg/dl
3) Individuals who gave their consent after understanding the study objectives, and who have no problems using the Internet or a cell phone
Exclusion criteria were as follows:
1) Individuals with a severe illness that required treatment
2) Individuals who have suffered from cardiovascular disease in the last 6 months
3) Individuals with symptoms of acute inflammation (fever, pain, redness, purulent secretion)
4) Individuals taking drugs or antidepressants that could affect body weight
5) Alcohol or drug addicts
6) Individuals participating in other Internet intervention or clinical trials for other drugs
