The inclusion criteria were: early loss of the first molar with decay of the second molar; cooperative child (Frankel ++ or +); presence of alternate permanent tooth germ; lack of root resorptions or involvement of furcation of the abutment teeth; absence of abscess or mobility in the abutment teeth; lack of cross bite and oral habits and cases remaining for more than 18 months until the eruption of substitute permanent tooth.
The exclusion criteria were: Failure to refer patients to follow-up sessions; Lack of inclusion criteria
