Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •1\)Patients on oral intubation and recruited within 4\-6 hrs of intubation
  • •2\)16 years and above
  • •3\)On VAP bundle ( Head end elevation, antibiotics, H2 receptor blocker, oral care, hand hygiene, cleaning of equipments and universal precautions)

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\)Patients who are with a diagnosis of pneumonia on admission
  • •2\)Patients who are ventilated outside ICU
  • •3\)Patients on , tracheotomy, dentures, few teeth (Less than6\)
  • •4\)Patients who are immune\-compromised, ANC less than 500
  • •5\)Patients on immunosuppressives
  • •6\)Patients with low platelet count less than 50,000
  • •7\)Patients with oral ulcers
