Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\)Patients on oral intubation and recruited within 4\-6 hrs of intubation
  • 2\)16 years and above
  • 3\)On VAP bundle ( Head end elevation, antibiotics, H2 receptor blocker, oral care, hand hygiene, cleaning of equipments and universal precautions)

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\)Patients who are with a diagnosis of pneumonia on admission
  • 2\)Patients who are ventilated outside ICU
  • 3\)Patients on , tracheotomy, dentures, few teeth (Less than6\)
  • 4\)Patients who are immune\-compromised, ANC less than 500
  • 5\)Patients on immunosuppressives
  • 6\)Patients with low platelet count less than 50,000
  • 7\)Patients with oral ulcers
