Age less than 35 years, single pregnancy; gestational age 8-12 weeks based on last menstrual period or ultrasound; body mass index less than 30 at the first prenatal follow up; fasting blood sugar less than 92 milligram per deciliter.
Exclusion criteria: Metabolic disorders; Parathyroid disorders; untreated thyroid disorders; other endocrine disorders; hepatic and renal impairment; polyhydramnios; history of macrosomia, stillbirths and malformation; smoking; glucosuria; a history of gestational diabetes.
