Background

A naturally occurring glucocorticoid. It has been used in replacement therapy for adrenal insufficiency and as an anti-inflammatory agent. Cortisone itself is inactive. It is converted in the liver to the active metabolite hydrocortisone. (From Martindale, The Extra Pharmacopoeia, 30th ed, p726)

Indication

肾上腺皮质激素类药。主要用于肾上腺皮质功能减退症及垂体功能减退症的替代治疗,亦可用于过敏性和炎症性疾病;局部外用于治疗虹膜睫状体炎、虹膜炎、角膜炎、过敏性结膜炎等。也可用于治疗角膜移植后的排斥反应和眼科手术后的炎症反应。
