Medidata, a leading provider of clinical trial solutions and Dassault Systèmes brand, has announced a significant expansion of its partnership with the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre (CTC) at the University of Sydney. The collaboration, which began in 2018, now encompasses the deployment of the Medidata Platform across major new studies, marking a substantial growth in their research capabilities.
Enhanced Clinical Trial Operations
The expanded partnership enables the CTC to streamline its clinical trial operations by consolidating multiple data systems onto Medidata's industry-proven unified platform. This integration has improved data management processes and expanded the center's research capabilities significantly. The CTC is currently managing 30 concurrent studies utilizing Medidata solutions, representing a substantial increase in their research capacity.
The Medidata Platform implementation has created connected workflows that advance the Medidata Data Experience by accelerating data availability, generating actionable insights, and improving overall data quality. These enhancements have contributed to better patient outcomes and demonstrate the platform's value in academic research settings.
Academic Leadership in Trial Innovation
Professor Meg Jardine, director of the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, emphasized the center's strategic use of Medidata solutions. "We have been utilizing Medidata for the past 6 years, in particular for studies that may feasibly contribute to regulatory submissions, and are impressed with Medidata's proactive approach to compliance with global data privacy and security regulations," she stated.
The CTC has established itself as a leader in developing adaptive and platform trials, building strong two-way relationships with Medidata to support their expert clinical data systems team. This collaboration has enabled the delivery of streamlined functionality in complex and evolving trial settings, positioning the center at the forefront of clinical research innovation.
Platform Impact and Future Outlook
Edwin Ng, senior vice president and general manager for Asia-Pacific at Medidata, highlighted the significance of the partnership's expansion. "The CTC's contribution to advancing clinical research and care has led to better patient outcomes," he noted. "By expanding our work together, we are not only fortifying the value of Medidata's unified platform, but also empowering the CTC to accelerate their research."
The collaboration supports Medidata's broader mission of serving more than 1 million users through its end-to-end platform, which aims to improve patient experiences and accelerate therapeutic market entry. The partnership demonstrates how academic institutions can leverage advanced clinical trial technologies to drive continued innovation in clinical research while maintaining rigorous compliance standards.
