The agreement covers Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, with the licensing territory estimated to encompass over 1 million ocular surgeries annually with anticipated year-over-year growth.
APP13007, approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in March 2024, represents a significant advancement in post-surgical ocular care. The treatment features a convenient twice-daily dosing regimen for 14 days without tapering requirements, providing rapid and sustained relief from inflammation and pain following ocular surgery.
Clinical Performance and Physician Adoption
The drug's active ingredient is clobetasol propionate, described as a "superpotent" corticosteroid, formulated using Formosa Pharma's proprietary APNT nanoparticle formulation platform. This novel formulation technology improves the dissolution and bioavailability of active pharmaceutical ingredients for topical administration, resulting in formulations with high uniformity, purity, and stability.
