简要总结

This study is a Single Blinded Trial assessing the combined  effectiveness of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Stretch  combined with  Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation  on Hamstring flexibility and Lumbar Flexion in college going students . OPD settings at PES Modern college of Physiotherapy , Pune will be  approached for the sample collection. All the participants will be screened according to the inclusion criteria. All participants will be explained regarding the procedure and informed consent will be taken. Basic demographic data regarding Name, Age , number of hours sitting per day will be taken. Prior to the measurements  , all participants will perform warm-up to ensure consistency and reduce variability in the results. Baseline Active Knee Extension Test and Modified modified Schobers Test measurements will be noted. The participants will be allotted to any one of the groups by Chit method. Group A will receive PNF stretch with NMES,  whereas the group B will receive PNF stretch  only . Active knee extension test and Modified modified schobers test will be reassessed after the intervention is given.

入选标准

  • College students who have minimum 3 to 4 sitting hours Active knee extension less than 160 degree measured with a goniometer.

排除标准

  • Participating in regular structured exercise program Presence of low back pain Previous hamstring injury in previous 12 months Diagnosed Orthopaedic problems or surgery in lower limb Subjects with other neurological impairments.
  • Subjects still enrolled in any form of physiotherapy treatment.
  • Spinal or abdominal surgeries in the last 6 months.
  • Conditions Contraindicated for NMES like, Unstable cardiac condition, open wounds, sensation alteration, skin infections.
