入选标准
- •Hospitalized patients with intravenous therapy scheduled for 6 days or longer with a medical order for PICC insertion
排除标准
- •Patients classified as urgency, because it prevented randomization;
- •Patients who required a specific catheter for continuity of treatment;
- •Patients who required a new PICC after being recruited for the study;
- •Patients with a previous diagnosis of DVT;
- •Patients previosuly mastectomized on the side chosen for insertion of the catheter;
- •Patients with damaged/sclerosed peripheral venous network;
- •Patients with bacteremia;
- •Patients with dermatitis/cellulitis or trauma to the arm to be punctured.
