简要总结
We are comparing two techniques of combined peripheral nerve blocks for postoperative recovery profile in patients who had undergone unilateral total knee arthroplasty. Block will be administered just after the completion of the surgery. We will be evaluating various parameters like duration of analgesia, pain scores, additional opioid consumption ,quadriceps muscle strength.

入选标准
- •ASA physical status I, II & III undergoing unilateral total knee arthroplasty.
排除标准
- •Any contraindication to spinal anaesthesia.
- •Infection at the site of block injection.
- •Any known history of allergy to local anaesthetics.
- •Patients on opioids for chronic pain.
- •Pregnancy and lactating women.
结局指标
主要结局
mean duration of postoperative analgesia
时间窗: time at which first rescue analgesia will be given | (variable for each patient)
次要结局
- mean time by TUG test(24 hours)
- MRC score for evaluation of postoperative quadriceps muscle strength(6 hours)
- mean total opioid consumption in first 24 hour of the block(24 hours)
- Percentage of people experiencing postoperative pain at site 1, 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 3 according to appendix II(time to first rescue analgesia)
- mean time to postoperative ambulation(time to postoperative ambulation)
- mean patient satisfaction score by Likert scale(24 hours)
