简要总结

Simulation-based clinical education includes the useof devices, trained people, lifelike virtual environments, and role-playing,not just handling mannequins. With realistic clinical scenarios,simulation-based educational interventions in nursing can train novice as wellas experienced nurses, helping them to develop effective non-technical skills, practise rare emergency situations, and provide a variety of authenticlife-threatening situations. Both simulation and traditional teachingapproaches are useful tools for teaching the learning process. Though both thetechniques are effective in teaching nursing students, investigators identifiedfew research gaps in both the novel teaching methods. Furthermore, in therevised basic B.Sc. nursing curriculum 2021, the Indian Nursing Councilincluded simulation-based teaching. All these factorsmotivated the investigator to conduct a study on effectiveness of simulation onself-efficacy, learning, and confidence among nursing students in North Indiawith the aim of closing the research gaps.

A randomised control trial will be conducted among nursingstudents in Northern States of India. The prefinal and final undergraduatenursing students will be assigned to either a simulation, or traditionalteaching method. The students will learn about Myocardial Infarction ManagementBundle (MIMB) through any one of the two teaching methods. The trial aims todetermine the effectiveness of simulation on self-efficacy, learning andself-confidence among nursing students. Students’ self-efficacy, learning andself-confidence will be assessed by using modified universal self-efficacy scale and modifiedChamberlain Learning and Self-Confidence tool. The secondary outcome is todetermine change in the level of knowledge on cardiovascular assessment, monitoringof the patient, ECG identification of Myocardial Infarction, Laboratoryinvestigation, Medical and Nursing management of Myocardial Infarction.
