- •Patients who had cough persisting for more than 8 weeks and visited a specialist cough clinic for the first time at a tertiary hospital. They did not undergo diagnostic evaluation and had not received antitussive treatment, such as codeine or levodropropizine at the referral clinics; and the cough did not resolve after cessation of smoking at least 4 weeks;
排除标准
- •The study participants excluded patients with co-administration of medications that are likely to interact with antitussives and underlying lung disorders such as pulmonary tuberculosis, pneumonia, emphysema, bronchiectasis, or lung cancer
