- •Inclusion criteria for these patients were as follows: (1) patients aged 18 years or older, (2) patients with first-ever stroke, (3) patients who have a unilateral vascular stroke lesion in the cerebral hemisphere as confirmed by computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, (4) patients who have a mild to moderate unilateral hemiparesis secondary to cerebrovascular accident (finger movements are more than fair grade and individual finger movement is possible) (5) patients who are able to follow simple verbal commands or instructions (no severe deficit in visual, attentional and language comprehension), (6) patients who had a MEP response performed in the paralyzed hand (excluded when TMS of 100% intensity could not induce MEP response)
排除标准
- •Exclusion criteria included lesion of bilateral cerebral hemisphere, or brain stem, and known history of previous stroke. Patients who had cognitive impairment that prevent them from following test instructions given by medical staff, presence of unstable medical conditions, peripheral neuropathy that might affect MEPs responses and contraindications to TMS (seizure, cardiac pacemaker or coil embolization).
