The Ewha Birth and Growth Study is a prospective birth cohort established at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Pregnant women were recruited between 2001 and 2006, and their offspring were followed longitudinally from birth through childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood.

The cohort was composed of mothers who received prenatal care between 24 and 28 weeks of gestation and were recruited between 2001 and 2006. After delivery, information on birth outcomes was collected, and mail surveys were conducted when the offspring were 6, 12, 18, and 24 months of age.
Regular follow-up examinations were conducted at 3 and 5 years of age, annually from 7 through 12 years of age, and once during adolescence at 13 to 15 years of age. Follow-up examinations continued into young adulthood, with an examination at 19 years of age.
During follow-up examinations, after an 8-hour overnight fast, blood samples (3 mL EDTA blood and 5 mL serum) were obtained from participants by venipuncture, and urine samples were collected. Assessments included physical growth, blood pressure, metabolic biomarkers, dietary intake, psychological and behavioral measures, socioeconomic status, physical activity, and other health-related factors.
