简要总结
This prospective case series study evaluates the effectiveness of individualized homoeopathic treatment in managing recurrent upper respiratory tract infections URTIs in children aged 4 to 10 years. Recurrent URTIs are common in this age group and contribute significantly to morbidity school absenteeism and frequent antibiotic use. Despite their high prevalence there is limited pediatric research assessing individualized homoeopathic management using standardized assessment tools.
The study will be conducted over 18 months at college OPD and health camps with a sample size of 50 children selected by simple random sampling. Children with a history of six or more URTI episodes per year or three or more episodes in six months will be included. Individualized homoeopathic medicines will be prescribed based on symptom totality and children will be followed up regularly. The Wisconsin Upper Respiratory Symptom Survey for Kids WURSS K will be used to assess symptom severity frequency of infections and quality of life changes.
The primary objective is to manage acute URTI episodes using individualized homoeopathic treatment. Secondary objectives include assessing reduction in recurrence frequency and improvement in quality of life. Data will be analyzed using descriptive and appropriate statistical methods. The study aims to generate evidence on the role of individualized homoeopathy in reducing disease burden and antibiotic dependence in children with recurrent URTIs.
