•All intubated cases admitted to PICU or who require intubation during PICU stay

排除标准

•Tracheostomized cases
•Severe ARDS
•Cases with refractory septic shock
•Cases requiring re-intubation after one episode of mechanical ventilation
•Anticipated intubation <24 hours
•Known bleeding disorder
•Recent nasal surgery or trauma or burns
•Previous history of epistaxis
•Chronic lung disease
•Congenital heart disease
•Nasal and other facial malformation, where nasal intubation is difficult
