- •Hypertension;
- •BP <160/90 on no antihypertensive drugs, BP <140/85 on two drugs, BP 140-170/90 on 1 drug.
- •Male or female of any age.
- •Are the trial subjects under 18? no

- •F.1.2 Adults (18-64 years) yes

排除标准
- •Compelling indication for beta blockers
- •Contra-indication to or previous intolerance of thiazide diuretics or beta blockers
- •Concurrent treatment with verapamil/diltiazem
- •Heart Failure
- •AV conduction disturbances
- •Atrial fibrilation
- •Co-existing clinically important conditions which may interfere with the study
