Comparing analgesic efficacy of a novel dual sub sartorial block using two different volumes in patients undergoing unilateral knee arthroscopy and ligament repair: A prospective, double blind, Monocentric, Randomized trial

Unilateral meniscal injuries are commonly admitted cases in our hospital. Arthroscopic meniscal repair is surgical treatment modality for the meniscal injury patients . However, knee arthroscopic surgeries are associated with significant pain post surgery. Dual Sub sartorial block (DSSB) is a novel regional anaesthesia technique useful in providing analgesia to post operative patients of knee arthroscopy and meniscal repairs. In dual sub sartorial block, we give local anaesthetic drug in both distal femoral canal and proximal adductor canal . In our study we would like to compare analgesic efficacy of two drug volumes of local anaesthetic administered in DSSB. In one group, Dual sub sartorial block administered using 30ml (Inj Levobupivacaine 0.25% + Inj Dexmeditomedine 0.5mcg/kg). In one group, Dual sub sartorial block administered using 40ml (Inj Levobupivacaine 0.25% + Inj Dexmeditomedine 0.5mcg/kg). Vitals are measured before and after the block administration. Pain score measured through VAS scoring system , sensory block regression, motor weakness are also measured immediately and at different timepoints post block.
