- •Pacientes hospitalizados con edad superior o igual a 18 años en los que hay previsión de realización de TAC abdominal con contraste intravenoso en el plazo de 12-24 horas. y un filtrado glomerular (GFR) calculado mayor o igual de 30 mL/min. El GFR será estimado mediante la fórmula procedente del Modification Diet Renal Diseases Study (MDRD-4). (Levey AS, Bosch JP, Lewis JB, Greene T, Rogers N, Roth D. A more accurate method to estimate glomerular filtartion rate from serum creatinine: a new prediction equation. Ann Intern Med 1999; 130:461-70)

- •Pacientes con un filtrado glomerular calculado por la fórmula MDRD-4 inferior a 30 ml/min
- •Cateterismo cardiaco u otro procedimiento con contraste intravenoso en la semana precedente
- •Colonoscopia o administración de nefrotóxicos (AINES, aminoglucósidos y/o determinados quimioterápicos nefrotóxicos) en las últimas 48 h o con previsión de recibirlos en horas posteriores
- •Patología crónica descompensada: insuficiencia cardiaca, EPOC e hipertensión arterial no controlada.
- •Alergia al contraste iodado
