- •any type of cardiac, renal, hepatic or respiratory diseases or acute or chronic infectious or inflammatory disease, presence of any metabolic disorder, regular intake of medications, and the development of high-altitude pulmonary edema or high-altitude cerebral edema after rapid ascent to altitudes below 3500 m
