简要总结
Traditional cardiovascular risk models are limited in capturing functional alterations in HDL-C linked to smoking and diet in Latin American populations. We analyzed the relationship between traditional and non-traditional risk factors and the serum lipid profile of hospitalized Mexican adults, emphasizing HDL-C behavior.
详细描述
An analytical, cross-sectional study was conducted in 70 adults following the STROBE statement. Non-parametric tests, Huber's robust multiple regression, and structural equation modeling (SEM) were performed.

研究组 & 干预措施
Hospitalized adults
Male and female, above 18 years of age, except patients with cognitive impairment or inability to provide informed consent, those with acute conditions that could alter the lipid profile, and those for whom a laboratory sample could not be obtained.
结局指标
主要结局
Measure serum lipid profile (total cholesterol, HDL-C, LDL-C, triglycerides, VLDL-C)
时间窗: Baseline
Differences in serum lipid concentrations (mg/dL) according to traditional and non-traditional cardiovascular risk factors, with emphasis on HDL-C as an indirect marker of antiatherogenic dysfunction
次要结局
- Measure HDL-C concentration by smoking status(Baseline)
- Measure Triglyceride and VLDL-C levels in patients with diabetes mellitus(Baseline)
- Measure HDL-C levels by ultraprocessed beverage consumption(Baseline)
- Identify anthropometric predictors of lipid profile(Baseline)
