•Patients aged between 18 years old and 65 years old
•Good general health condition
•Acceptable oral hygiene with full-mouth plaque level (FMPL) less than 30%
•Presence of a hopeless tooth in mandibular or maxillary molar region with less than 50% bone loss in all dimensions and requiring replacement by a dental implant.
•Ability to fully understand the nature of the proposed surgery and ability to sign an Ethics Committee-approved informed consent form

•History of radiotherapy or chemotherapy for malignancy in the past 5 years
•History of autoimmune diseases
•Known allergy to bone substitute and collagen
•History of systemic diseases that would contraindicate surgical treatment
•Long-term non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug therapy
•Medical conditions requiring antibiotic prophylaxis
•Heavy smoking (> 10 cigarettes per day)
•Uncontrolled or untreated periodontal disease
•Pregnancy or lactating period
•Inability to consent for participation in the study and/or to accept the proposed treatment plan
