•Sudden sensorineural hearing loss occurring within 72 hours, with a hearing loss of =20 dBHL at least at two consecutive frequencies, mostly unilateral, with a few cases being bilateral either simultaneously or sequentially. 2) Age 18-70 years, no gender limitation. 3) Normal function of important organs such as liver and kidneys. 4) Informed consent and voluntary participants.

•(1) Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
•(2) Exclude sudden deafness patients who cannot clearly state their medical history, have communication difficulties, or are unwilling to cooperate with examinations.
•(3) Apart from hearing loss, patients with no other accompanying symptoms or identifiable tongue and pulse signs, who do not meet the typical traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) pattern differentiation standards or whose syndromes are mixed or overlapping.
•(4) Exclude cases of sensorineural hearing loss with clear causes, such as Hunt syndrome, noise-induced hearing loss, traumatic hearing loss, toxic hearing loss, and sudden hearing loss caused by central lesions.
•(5) Exclude patients with structural ear diseases or pseudodeafness, as indicated by bilateral mastoid CT, internal auditory canal and cerebellopontine angle MRI, auditory brainstem response (ABR), tympanometry, and pure tone audiometry suggesting middle ear disease or acoustic neuroma.
•(6) Exclude sudden deafness patients with contraindications to tympanic cavity injection, corticosteroids, or batroxobin.
