The move positions the clinical-stage pharmaceutical company to capitalize on the growing demand for sustainable omega-3 alternatives as traditional marine sources face mounting supply pressures.
Strategic Investment in Sustainable Innovation
The investment follows LevOmega (搜索)'s successful capital raise, which will fund critical development phases including research, technical validation, pilot production and commercialisation of pharmaceutical-grade omega-3 products. LevOmega was co-founded by LTR Pharma (搜索), Levur (搜索) Pty Ltd, and Green Blue Health (搜索) Pty Ltd, leveraging cross-sector expertise in biotech, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceutical commercialisation.
LTR Pharma (搜索) Executive Chairman Lee Rodne emphasized the strategic significance of the expanded partnership. "We are delighted to deepen our commitment to LevOmega (搜索). This investment not only increases our equity stake to around 43 per cent but also provides LevOmega with the resources to accelerate development of pharmaceutical-grade omega-3 products at a time when traditional fish oil supply chains are under increasing pressure," Rodne said.

The global omega-3 market faces significant sustainability challenges as traditional fish-oil supply chains struggle with overfishing, pollution, and declining ocean yields. Studies indicate that global nutritional requirements for essential fatty acids such as EPA and DHA already exceed sustainable marine supply, creating an urgent need for alternative sources.
LevOmega (搜索)'s approach focuses on developing scalable, sustainable omega-3 products that replicate the composition and function of marine-derived oils without relying on ocean harvesting. The company utilizes nature-identical biotechnology platforms to produce high-purity, consistent omega-3 ingredients designed to serve both nutritional and pharmaceutical markets.
Development Pathway and Market Positioning
LevOmega (搜索)'s development strategy includes technical validation of its nature-identical omega-3 oil, followed by pilot-scale production and eventual commercial launch. A formal R&D and Licensing Agreement is now in place between LevOmega (搜索) and Levur (搜索) to develop nature-identical, pharmaceutical-grade omega-3 oils. This partnership structure provides LTR Pharma (搜索) with access to a scalable, sustainable alternative to marine-based omega-3, addressing critical supply and quality issues in the global market.
Complementary Portfolio Strategy
The LevOmega (搜索) investment aligns with LTR Pharma (搜索)'s broader strategy of developing first-in-class therapies for significant underserved markets. The company's core portfolio includes SPONTAN (搜索)® and ROXUS (搜索)® – rapid-onset intranasal therapies for erectile dysfunction (搜索) that enable onset of action in 10 minutes or less – and OROFLOW (搜索)®, currently under development for oesophageal motility disorders (搜索).
Rodne noted that the investment "underscores our ability to identify and support scalable, first-in-class solutions that address global sustainability challenges while remaining highly complementary to our core intranasal pharmaceutical pipeline."
The expanded partnership provides LTR Pharma (搜索) with new exposure to the global multi-billion-dollar omega-3 market while maintaining focus on its proprietary intranasal drug delivery platform and established commercial operations in Australia, with regulatory expansion planned for the US and other key markets.
