WHO SEARO and University of Colombo Sign Agreement to Scale AI-Enabled Precision Medicine Across South-East Asia

- WHO and the University of Colombo signed a Project Collaboration Agreement to build regional leadership and capacity for AI-enabled precision medicine across the WHO South-East Asia Region. - The agreement was exchanged at the 79th session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia in Dili, Timor Leste on September 9. - The collaboration targets workforce readiness, governance frameworks, and practical implementation knowledge for low- and middle-income countries, with integration into primary healthcare toward universal health coverage. - Four core technical functions cover competency development, AI governance and readiness, AI-enabled precision medicine for primary healthcare, and knowledge translation and policy support.
