Yellowbird Diagnostics Initiates First-in-Human Trial of Novel Inflammation Imaging Agent NeuCaVis

- Yellowbird Diagnostics has successfully dosed the first participants in a Phase I clinical trial of NeuCaVis™, a first-in-class PET imaging agent that targets fructose metabolism to visualize inflammation with high specificity. - The single-dose, open-label study is being conducted at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute to evaluate safety, tolerability, and dosimetry in healthy volunteers, with completion anticipated by June 2026. - NeuCaVis™ represents a new paradigm in molecular imaging by providing direct visualization of inflammatory activity with minimal background signal, potentially enabling earlier and more accurate detection of cardiovascular diseases, chronic inflammatory disorders, neuroinflammation, and cancer. - Preclinical and early human data demonstrate that NeuCaVis™ shows uptake primarily in tissues with active inflammation, which could enhance diagnostic confidence and improve clinical decision-making compared to conventional PET imaging approaches.
