Eligible patients between 18 and 80 years old, with diagnosed NYHA class II or III heart failure, and received a stable medical regimen at least 1 month
Patients were excluded based on the following criteria: (1) acute myocardial infarction or unstable angina or major cardiac surgery or cardiac resynchronization in the past 6 weeks; (2) uncontrolled cardiac arrhythmias or uncontrolled valvular heart diseases or cardiac arrest in the past 3 months; (3) current participation in a cardiac rehabilitation program or mind-body interventions such as Tai-Chi, inability to walk due to lower limb amputation or severe arthritis of lower extremities.
