Patients aged >18 years
Patients with ARDS by Berlin’s definition requiring intubation and mechanical ventilation
Exclusion Criteria
The patient/relatives who refuse to give informed
consent
Age less than 18 years
Pregnant females
Moribund and Brain dead patients
Chest trauma
• Post thoracic surgery patients
• Pulmonary embolism
• Chronic respiratory failure
• Cardiac dysfunction
