Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\. ASA physical status i\-iii
  • 2\. Age group of 18\-70
  • 3\.BMI \< 30
  • 4\. Candidates posted for upper abdominal surgeries and surgical duration expected to exceed beyond 2 hours

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Mechanical ventilation of \> 1 hour within the last 2 weeks before surgery
  • 2\. Body mass index ââ?°Â¥ 35 kg/m2
  • 3\. Acute respiratory failure (pneumonia, acute lung injury or acute respiratory distress syndrome)
  • \- Emergency surgery
  • \- Sepsis or septic shock
  • \- Progressive neuromuscular illness
  • \- Intra\-thoracic surgery
  • \- Pregnancy
  • \- Orbital tumors
  • \- Optic neuritis
