Trauma patients with an ISS of 16 or higher
Age between 18 and 70 years
Compos mentis
Informed consent
Exclusion Criteria
ISS<16
Age <18 or >70 years
Death within 24 hours after the trauma
No informed consent
Patients with a known immune disorder
Use of immunosuppressive drugs
